Welcome to the Fine Art of Repousse- the ancient system of working metals utilized by Cynthia Gale to create her signature collection. This procedure uses steel punches to manipulate the metal while it is fixed onto a pitch or tar-like material. Repousse is the combination of tracing the design on the front of the piece using liners, raising the relief by pushing from the back using different punches, and finally working the details on the front of the piece.

Working with our nation's premiere museums and cultural institutions, Gale creates licensed products utilizing repousse technique for distinguished clients ranging from The Metropolitan Museum of Art to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum to Washington National Cathedral to the J. Paul Getty Museum. Inspired by design themes from antiquity, sculpture, architecture and painting, each piece of Cynthia Gale Signature is accompanied by an authoritative curitorial card written by the institution's curator which indicates who the jewelry was created for as well as the artwork it was inspired from.
